Come to think of it, someone did bring a pooch. And there were a lot of putzes... very push-y ones who thought they could overturn an election by packing a
room, because in the immortal words of the president of the Alice B Toklas Democratic Club, "the voters don't give a fuck."

Hint, Chrispy: insulting the voters...

The Putsch by our local progressive sect at the DCCC will come to naught in the end. They will end up turning the same knives on each other that they used on
Scott Wiener. That's what has happened at the Milk Club and other progressive venues.
You cannot create a lasting movement based on nasty scheming. And certainly not if you package yourself as an alternative to politics as usual.

thanks to wp for the very in depth account... i had planned on going, but after tuesday night at the milk club, a packed room (too hot for everyone but
"miggy" who absolutely stole the show) and an entreaty for everyone there to also attend the dccc voting, i guess i correctly surmised that it would
be another claustrophobic cattle call and my doctor has insisted that i limit myself to one of those a week... so, thanks to wp, although i have a few
questions:

Thanks, MC. Yeah, OK, I realize I shouldn't judge Leno by this vote, but somehow I think he'll continue to be a bad vote. It's not just Weiner, but
most of the people scratching his back are over on the Newsom/corporate side of the political divide. I sooo hope I'm wrong.

Incidentally, it should be noted that very few people who voted for Scott Weiner last time voted for him this time, and vice versa! Last time, the hardcore
mods rallied around Mary Jung. They lost,...

The best account I've seen, well paced and well written. Thanks for being our eyes. And a good analysis. I have only one quibble, and that's over the
implication that Leno's vote indicated that he lacks the progressive-tinged values that the SFBG saw when it endorsed him. Leno did what he should have,
and that's vote for the guy who supported him in a very tough race early on, when Weiner endorsed Leno and Peskin endorsed Migden. Peskin's endorsement
