There hasn't been much to smile about recently. Democracy overthrown in Honduras. Election fraud in Iran. Republicans hold California by the throat and
there isn't much prospect for changing the profoundly undemocratic 2/3 budget rule (although some people are apparently happy about California's dire
straits), and single payer health care looks like it has zero chance of passing, as millions die without healthcare in the richest country in the world.
In this climate, I'll take every little bit of good news I can find. And this is definitely good news, even if the charges should never have been brought
in the first place:

And just as an aside, I want to give a shout out to Supervisor Eric Mar, who sponsored the SF BOS resolution to drop the charges. I'm so proud to have
supported a true champion for social justice in that race!
