Attorney General Eric Holder was briefed in July 2010
By Sharyl Attkisson

WASHINGTON - New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.
On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."
Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

Pressure Grows for Holder's Resignation; Subpoenas ThreatenedPressure is building for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder over the fatally flawed Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal. Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., demands that Holder resign immediately, while 10 Arizona sheriffs say he should be fired if he won’t quit. Rep. Darrell Issa says his House Oversight and Government Reform Committee may issue subpoenas against top Justice Department officials this week over the scandal, which he indicated could involve felonies.

On August 20, 2009, a DOE staffer asked "how can we advance a project . . . that generates a working capital shortfall of $50 [million] when working capital assumptions are entered into the model?," adding "it also simply won't stand up to review by oversight bodies." Solyndra's federal loan guarantee closed the following month. Then there are the still-hazy insider dealings, another inevitable feature of government-led investment. An Obama fundraiser, Steven Spinner, took an advisory role at DOE and pushed for the loan to proceed, even as his wife's law firm advised on the same deal. (DOE and the couple deny any undue influence.) Earlier this year, DOE reworked the Solyndra loan guarantee as the company floundered and put private creditors ahead of taxpayers. This newspaper reported Friday that Treasury raised alarms about the legality of such a move,

none of the workers who are being fired will receive severance and their health-care benefits will expire at the end of November, a source familiar with the situation told FOX Business.
“Frankly, the manner this has been carried out seems somewhat insensitive. The size of the layoffs, in our opinion, can only hamper the trustee and regulator’s ability to collect information," the source said.
The MF Global trustee said the firing of employees and closing of operations “is a necessary part of the court-ordered liquidation of MF Global and is consistent with the trustee’s obligations…to preserve assets.”
MF Global filed for the eighth-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history on October 31 after suffering a run on the bank caused by massive bets totaling $6.4 billion on risky euro-zone sovereign bonds. Led by former Goldman Sachs (GS: 101.66, +2.16, +2.17%) CEO Jon Corzine, MF Global has been criticized for being overleveraged and making undiversified bets that helped bring down the company.

ABC NEWSObama Fundraisers Tied to Green Firms That Got Federal Cash

Several of Barack Obama's top campaign supporters went from soliciting political contributions to working from within the Energy Department as it showered billions in taxpayer-backed stimulus money on alternative energy firms, ABC News and iWatch News have learned.
One of them was Steven J. Spinner, a high-tech consultant and energy investor who raised at least $500,000 for the candidate. He became one of Energy Secretary Steven Chu's key loan program advisors while his wife's law firm represented a number of companies that had applied for loans.
Spinner was not the only Obama political supporter to play a role at the Energy Department. California venture capitalist Steve Westly, who raised more than $500,000 for Obama, had Secretary Chu's ear on green energy issues as a member of a high-level volunteer advisory panel. Mackey Dykes, who was a finance manager for the Obama campaign, was hired to be the liaison between the Energy Department and White House. Each declined interview requests.
Obama's political supporters were also investors in companies that had applied for loans. Westly has held stakes in at least five companies that have won DOE support. Oklahoma billionaire George Kaiser, another Obama bundler, was the biggest private backer of Solyndra. Westly, Spinner and the CEO of Allison Spinner's law firm, John V. Roos, (now Obama's ambassador to Japan), each raised more than $500,000 for Obama's 2008 campaign.

Breaking News on Fast and Furious:Obama Knew in May 2010?

To date Barack Obama, the dispenser of hope and change and the presiding officer over the least transparent presidency in history, has claimed he only learned about Fast and Furious earlier this year. However, with each new document dump Obama’s timeframe seems to be as inaccurate (or as purposely misleading) as Attorney General Eric Holder’s.For example, just months after he took office it was evident he was focused on a Fast and Furious-like operation, ostensibly aimed at cutting down on gun trafficking on the southern border.

I know we’re not supposed to discuss Operation Fast and Furious, or the career deathwatch for embattled Attorney General Eric Holder, any more – according to Holder’s recent revisions to the First Amendment – but William Lajeunesse of Fox News has a big report today that suggests Holder’s Justice Department might not have taken congressional injunctions against Fast and Furious whistleblower retaliation to heart.

And to think that Attorney General Eric Holder is getting testy about congressional calls for his resignation. After all, the Justice Department has nothing to hide, right? The Obama Administration has abruptly sealed court records containing alarming details of how Mexican drug smugglers murdered a U.S. Border patrol agent with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico. This means information will now be kept from the public as well as the media. Could this be a cover-up on the part of the “most transparent” administration in history?

The loans never get paid back as these companies either go bankrupt or move their production facilities to China after a few months of receiving the taxpayer guaranteed funds. <link> <link>REF: 80% of ‘Green Energy’ Loans Went to Obama’s Top DonorsWith Energy Secretary Steven Chu set to testify Thursday before the House Energy and Commerce Committee about the government’s $573 million loan to failed solar panel maker Solyndra, an explosive new list of energy loan amounts to President Obama’s top fundraisers, bundlers, and supporters has been released by Breitbart editor Peter Schweizer, author of Throw Them All Out.As the list reveals, 80 percent of all $20.5 billion in Department of Energy loans went to President Obama’s top donors. Furthermore, some of those dwarf in size those given to Obama bundler George Kaiser, owner of the now defunct Solyndra. The list—which features the likes of Google owners Larry Page and Sergey Brinn, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Ted Turner, John Doerr, and Al Gore—raises new questions about the procedures used to administer the now-controversial DOE loans.http://beforeitsnews.com/...y/1389/...op_Donors.html

There has been some speculation that Heather Higginbottom, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, may get the top job, as her boss, Jack Lew leaves to become President Obama’s chief of staff.
Before Ms. Higginbottom is considered for one of the key posts in the U.S. government, maybe she should be asked to explain this photo from October 30, 2001.
The photo depicts Heather Higginbottom, then working for Massachusetts Senator John Kerry addressing a Boston Democratic Socialists of America organized forum “Welfare, Children and Families: The Impact of Welfare Reform”, with panelists William Julius Wilson, Dottie Stevens, Jack Clark and Bob Haynes.
Jack Clark , at the time, was was Boston D.S.A. Chair, William Julius Wilson was a long time D.SA. member and Bob Haynes was President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, with which D.S.A worked “frequently”.
The Boston D.S.A. logo can be seen on the wall in the center right of the picture.
Despite its relatively innocuous name, Democratic Socialists of America is a radical Marxist organization that believes, according to Democratic Left, Spring 2007, page 9
Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production.
