WASHINGTON - New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

On August 20, 2009, a DOE staffer asked "how can we advance a project . . . that generates a working capital shortfall of $50 [million] when working capital assumptions are entered into the model?," adding "it also simply won't stand up to review by oversight bodies." Solyndra's federal loan guarantee closed the following month.

Then there are the still-hazy insider dealings, another inevitable feature of government-led investment. An Obama fundraiser, Steven Spinner, took an advisory role at DOE and pushed for the loan to proceed, even as his wife's law firm advised on the same deal. (DOE and the couple deny any undue influence.) Earlier this year, DOE reworked the Solyndra loan guarantee as the company floundered and put private creditors ahead of taxpayers. Obama Fundraisers Tied to Green Firms That Got Federal Cash

Several of Barack Obama's top campaign supporters went from soliciting political contributions to working from within the Energy Department as it showered billions in taxpayer-backed stimulus money on alternative energy firms, ABC News and iWatch News have learned.

One of them was Steven J. Spinner, a high-tech consultant and energy investor who raised at least $500,000 for the candidate. He became one of Energy Secretary Steven Chu's key loan program advisors while his wife's law firm represented a number of companies that had applied for loans.

Spinner was not the only Obama political supporter to play a role at the Energy Department. California venture capitalist Steve Westly, who raised more than $500,000 for Obama, had Secretary Chu's ear on green energy issues as a member of a high-level volunteer advisory panel. Mackey Dykes, who was a finance manager for the Obama campaign, was hired to be the liaison between the Energy Department and White House. Each declined interview requests.

Obama's political supporters were also investors in companies that had applied for loans. Westly has held stakes in at least five companies that have won DOE support. Oklahoma billionaire George Kaiser, another Obama bundler, was the biggest private backer of Solyndra. Westly, Spinner and the CEO of Allison Spinner's law firm, John V. Roos, (now Obama's ambassador to Japan), each raised more than $500,000 for Obama's 2008 campaign.

in general, republicans are interested in making money and they don't believe in global warming, climat change or the need to cut down on the use of fossil fuels...in general, democrats are on the other side of those issues...

so, logically, people working in the "green energy" field are likely to be democrats...

people on boards of directors of large companies are likely to have a lot of money... they are likely to contribute lots of money to political candidates... many are likely to be influential enough to "bundle" donations from friends, relatives co-workers and people they know through business or social circles...

people on the board of directors at halliburton are likely to give to and bundle for republicans... they may even have enough clout to get one of their own on the presidential ticket...

when republicans leave office, they are likely to go to work for companies like halliburton... democrats likely for unions or "green" businesses...

so, no surprise that in a democratic administration, money will go where dems feel it is most important - to green energy companies... no surprise that the wealthy people who sit on the boards of directors of those companies will have been democratic donors and bundlers...

the surprise would be if, in a democratic administration, government funds went to firms like halliburton and blackhawk...

but really DO post a list of the 43 "green" companies which received government stimulus money and show how many have declared bankruptcy... solyndra and which others?... how many of the 43?... and solyndra we know was a victim of chinese protectionism, subsidized and artificially low prices for solar panels (for which china is being investigated)...

White House Official Heather Higginbottom Needs to Explain Marxist Connection

There has been some speculation that Heather Higginbottom, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, may get the top job, as her boss, Jack Lew leaves to become President  Obama’s chief of staff.

Before Ms. Higginbottom is considered for one of the key posts in the U.S. government, maybe she should be asked to explain this photo from October 30, 2001.

The photo depicts Heather Higginbottom, then working for Massachusetts Senator John Kerry addressing a Boston  Democratic Socialists of America organized forum “Welfare, Children and Families: The Impact of Welfare Reform”, with panelists   William Julius Wilson, Dottie Stevens, Jack Clark and Bob Haynes.

Jack Clark , at the time, was was Boston D.S.A. Chair, William Julius Wilson  was a long time D.SA. member and Bob Haynes was President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, with which D.S.A worked “frequently”.
